How to obtain a Quotation for your new Kitchen
In order for us to quote on your do-it-yourself kitchen, we will need you to provide information about your room and the kitchen you would like to build. It will take you some time to do this properly, but time spent well here will help you build a much better kitchen. Do not rush this process. You will have to live with your new kitchen for many years, and you will want that experience to be a pleasurable one. Step 1 - Room Dimensions Measure the dimensions of your room. It is important to record the location of your doors and windows (including window height above the floor) and ceiling height. Step 2 - Benchtop Height Choose the height of your benchtop. Traditionally benchtops have been 900mm high. 950mm high benchtops are now often chosen with people becoming taller. Step 3 - Base Unit Height If you choose a 900mm benchtop height your base units will be 720 high. 770 high for 950mm benchtops. This drawing will help you determine your wall unit height - readikit elevations Step 5 - Kitchen Layout A good kitchen layout will help make food preparation, cooking and cleaning easier. It is good if you can do your layout and then imagine you are in your new kitchen preparing your favourite meal. Where will your refrigerator be? Stove? Oven? Microwave? Sink? Cutlery, Cooking Utensils, Pots and Pans, etc.? Where will you serve your food? Try to make a triangle between your fridge, sink and stove. Do you have room for a walk-in-pantry (a room)? Breakfast bar? This a very important part of your DIY kitchen, What you are about to build you will have to live with for a long period of time. Spend a good week (or month) thinking about this. Bounce your ideas off friends and associates. Use our kitchen planner to help you layout your kitchen. Step 6 - Cabinet and Drawer Fronts You have a choice to make now. What type of doors, drawer fronts and end panels do you want in your kitchen. Your choices are:
